What kind of computer do you have? Is it a Dell?

Try checking in the BIOS to see if the cdrom is being recognized. If it is a Dell, you will need to press F2 instead of F12 to get in.

In the BIOS, does it say OFF or unknown device? If Off, set it to Auto or Detect. If unknown, try setting it to off, press enter, then resetting it to auto. If the device is still not detected, open it up and reseat the power and IDE cables for the drive(NOTE: make sure the system is off and unplugged before you attempt this :p). You can also try running the Diagnostics from the Boot Menu (F12) and testing your cdrom. If the above suggestions doesn't fix your problem and you are still under warranty, call Dell.
