    k when i want to choose a device to boot from for this only boot by holding F12, it only shows "Removable Dev. & Hard Drive" when before it use to say "ATAPI CD Drive and Floppy" something like that i have no idea why it only does that and i want to boot a cd on start up any of you have a solution?

    What kind of computer do you have? Is it a Dell?

    Try checking in the BIOS to see if the cdrom is being recognized. If it is a Dell, you will need to press F2 instead of F12 to get in.

    good guess, it's a Dell and i checked the BIOS and i saw that it's not shown

    In the BIOS, does it say OFF or unknown device? If Off, set it to Auto or Detect. If unknown, try setting it to off, press enter, then resetting it to auto. If the device is still not detected, open it up and reseat the power and IDE cables for the drive(NOTE: make sure the system is off and unplugged before you attempt this :p). You can also try running the Diagnostics from the Boot Menu (F12) and testing your cdrom. If the above suggestions doesn't fix your problem and you are still under warranty, call Dell.

    well just pressing F2 worked. i checked the BIOS by holding Del and the CD Rom setting wasnt there. THANKS i'm in slax right now :)
