can anybody tell me why I keep getting nsmailnotifier error message when I try to shut down. My computer then freezes, then asks if I want to wait, shut down, or end task. It happens all the time.

It sounds like the Netscape Mail Notification program is running in the background, and hanging your system when you try to shutdown.
Open up explorer and browse to your Startup folder in the Start Menu. I imagine that you must have a Netscape Mail Notification shortcut in there. Highlight it, and delete it to prevent further occurences.

    Hope this helps,
