Am stumped. Have two NT4.0 sp6a PCs that will not print directly from an older DOS program. It wants a directly attached printer and must use LPT1.

If you open a DOS console window and first do a DOS file print command and then run the program it the same VM window, it will print on a bubble jet; works on a laser too if you have the program print before the laser goes back into the "ready" mode.

The program works and prints fine on other NT PCs on the network and my home PC. Diags on the LPT1 port all positive. Windows printing on both involved PCs to the network and local printers all work fine.

Only similarity on two units is they both had a program on them at one time that required a "dongle." I removed all traces of the program on one, including registry entries with no improvement.
