    hello everyone.
i'm sure some of you are very familiar with this problem and hopefully can help me get this resolved. i'm running Win XP Media Center 2005 and whenever I reboot i get this message "NTLDR is compressed". CTRL / ALT / DLT to restart. I can't go anywhere now, it just restarts and repeats itself. I can't get any prompts to come up where i can type in any commands and I have no idea where to start. I'm not really worried about losing my data just as long as I can get my comp up and running again. BTW, i have no floppy disk drive so i can't use the floopy disk to reboot either. anything would help and be greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time.

    Welcome to TSG

In general it's impossible to remember all the XP solutions so it can be helpful to do a search either on the forum or Google with you problem.

But specifically to help with your problem, do you have a WinXP install CD?

yes i have a systems recover cd. i tried reinstalling everything and that's what led to the NTLDR is compressed message. i've tried googling as well but the info i find doesn't really suit my situation. i don't care if i lose the data on my hard drive, i would just like to be able to get back on my computer. thanks again.

Usually with recovery CDs you can't get into the recovery console. Unless someone else has an idea I would suggest borrowing a full XP install CD, boot into the recovery console and try this NTLDR is compressed
