Hi, as you might've guessed from the title, my computer's got a problem, in that it won't boot. I decided to reinstall XP because my hard drive's partitions were kinda messed up, so I deleted a couple of them then rebooted. As I kinda expected, it didn't reboot, giving an error message "NTLDR is missing. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart." which I wasn't really concerned about because I was planning to reinstall anyway. But I get this error message even when I try to boot from CD... I've googled a bit and nobody else seems to be having this problem. What's happened to my PC?

The error message indicates the computer is trying to boot from the hard drive. You need to set the boot order to CDROM first, HDD second in the BIOS setup.

Is the CD a bootable disc?

Does the CD drive show up as an attached device in the BIOS settings?

When you power up the computer, does the CD drive sound like it is spinning up the CD and does its activity like flash on and off?

When editing the BIOS settings, are you saving your changes before exiting the editor?
