I have a Dell XPS Generation 2 running Windows XP with SP 2. Well, several months ago for no reason what so ever my computer screen started flickering on and off when computer is on. So I kept messing with it till I figured out that when I disable the graphics card it stops doing it. In device manager it says that card it working properly (when I enable it). I tried rolling back driver,I've tried updating driver and nothing is helping. Someone please help me....I'm at the end of my rope with this thing. I have several games that me or my family can't play now because of this. Thank you so much.

It could be overheating, or it even could be monitor. Check the fan on the video if there is one and make sure the computer is free of dust.

Disabling the video card is a very bad idea.

Thank you so much. I know there is dust in there. How do I go about cleaning it? I don't want to damage anything. Also if I don't disable it my screen will do nothing but flash on and off and I can't see or do anything. I hooked up another monitor to see if maybe it was my monitor but still same thing happened. When I go to display and setting for monitor the only setting it will work in is 600x800 pixls. When I change it same problem pixels and it keep resetting in's self back to 600x800. Thank you.
