    Hi All,
    Win98se
    I/E 6.0
    O/E 6

I was using Opera 6.0 to surf the web , and I decided to check my mail using O/E. It starts to load but then immediatley freezes, or hangs, and I can't click on anything, when I go to ctrl/alt/delete, I get a "not responding" message. I have rebooted...run the i/e 6 repair tool....tried a previous registry. and nothing appears to work.

However, I have microsoft outlook on my system, so I configured it and imported all my data from O/E and it works fine, and connects normally...anyone know how I can get O/E back ??...Rhett

Traced the problem to AVG antivirus, It was hanging up because of the certification of incoming and outgoing mail for some reason, I unchecked that option, rebooted , added that option back and all is well...go figure...Rhett

I have had the same problem with oe6 but I don't use opera or whatever you called it. anyway when I launch Outlook Express it hangs and when I do ctrl/alt/del it says it is not responding and then I click cancel and it opens. It does this most of the time. Any idea why? Thanks!

Try disabling your anti virus, then see if o/e will open...but..don't open attachments while your anti virus is off.

If that fixes the problem, you may want to update your dat files for your anti-virus and restart, then check O/E and see if it works.

Post back If this doesn't help, and we will try again ..:)...Rhett

Thanks for the info but I update the dat files all the time, at least weekly, I don't think that is the problem, but I guess it could be???? Any more ideas? Thanks for your help!
