    Hi old chaps!

Recently, I have had a reccurring problem upon logging into Windows XP. The startmenu/taskbar takes absolutely ages to load (3-5mins), and when it has eventually stopped loading, many taskbar icons will be missing.

I have scanned repeatedly with aVast! Anti-Virus and AVG Anti-spyware. I have also used a program called 'VundoFix', which found two .dll items, and removed them successfully, yet the error still persists.

Any help would definately be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,
    GS!

Okay, so... I tried restoring a previously backed-up registry, but to no avail. I've tried disabling all startup programs... I don't really know what else to do now.

Is this the cause of a virus, or has my Windows XP just gone bad? :(

EDIT: Thought I might as well add this...

Is it highly unlikely anyone at this site will be able to help with such a problem? If so, does anybody have a link for somewhere where such problems are easily dealt with?

    Thanks!
