I am using a local DSL fast access but am unable to get email through outlook. Here is the message I am getting:

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net',
Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0e.

Can anyone tell me how OE is "suppose" to be set up?

Thanks for your advance help.

I'm not getting much help at either web site. I feel that it's Bell South's problem. I am going to try their help.bellsouth for setting up outlook again and see if that works. I might have a glitch in OE and will need to uninstall and reinstall. I guess that would be the last thing to try. If you have another suggestion I would greatly appreciate it.

Check Bellsouth's website and see if it has instructions for setting up Outlook Express and entering the correct settings. If it does not, you should contact their tech support people and let someone walk you through the process. This is done in Outlook Express in "Tools - Accounts" and "Tools - Options".

I've done that already and quit frankly Bellsouth tech guys are not responding very well. I believe it is an internal problem on how they have us set up but no one there seems to understand that. I'll keep you posted on how this turns out.
