office 97install illegal operation error win 98

    I am running win 98
    Near the end of installing office 97 pro I get a msg
    Wrkgadm
    This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

    The window will not close but I can still operate other programs.

    The details state
    WRKGADM caused an invalid page fault in
    module WRKGADM.EXE at 0197:00406217.

    I was able to install however I did get an licence error msg. I searched other threads and installed the fix from MS. That issue cured.
    New issue
    I still can't operate says missing system.mdw

    Thats where Im at
