I have an old laptop that I bought that has XP on it. I need to keep XP as the software I have won't run on later versions.
It boots with the old company logo that I'd like to either get rid of or chnage.
It's so old I don't want to factory reset it.
Does anyone remember how this is don't on XP?

ps. All I do with it is run car diagnostics.

That depends. If the logo is on the desktop, change the wallpaper setting.

If the logo appears just after switching on it's probably in the bios.

What is the laptop's make and full model ?

Lego I sure it’s part of the bios.
It's a Deel Latitude D520. (Yes very old)

I have never seen a BIOS hold a company logo on it. Can you take a video or at least a picture when you see it?

It could be a custom boot screen or a welcome screen to replace the default XP boot screen. Here's what the login looks like
    XP_boot.jpg
I've changed the default boot screen in four Windows 7 computers; this is not the wallpaper. After Windows loads, our wallpaper appears. Let me look and see if the program I used works on XP.

    I found this
    https://jakeludington.com/2006/02/19/change_xp_boot/
and the bootskin link still works.
Note: this isn't the program I use. I'll need to do a bit of searching to see what I used.

Here are the startup screens. I used the first and I put the 2nd on my husband's.
