I want to do some gaming using my 2007 Philips 50" 720p TV as a giant monitor, it has 2 HDMI ports and I can't get it to see my gaming computer (i5 with g-force GTX 1650 Super) or my ROKU box,
however I can get a DVD player and a CHROMCAST dongle to work in both ports.
Any ideas on why the TV doesn't detect PC or ROKU?
I've tried 3 different HDMI cables that are known to be good.

Can you lower the resolution coming from the gaming computer?

Set the TV to the desired input, and shut it off.
Then connect the HDMI cable to the TV and to the video output of the computer.
Turn on the TV.
Turn on the computer.

Is the TV recognized by the computer?

Resolution shouldn't be an issue as the TV will scale to fit. In any case, you can't adjust the resolution if it's not being recognized.
