Chrome is up to date. Javascript enabled, cookies accepted, but for the last six months I cannot log in to a particular shopping site that I have use for 10 years.

There must be a setting some where on my computer but I cannot find it, despite following all the instructions on their site. I can open the sites home page but when I sign it I am directed to a page reading: 'Sorry, this page cannot be displayed due to technical difficulties.' I phoned their technical support to be told the site is running normally and that the problem must be on my end. , I have tried different internet browsers with no luck. Any ideas?

It would help if you provided a link to the site?

Hi DaveA, that advice would make sense if I could actually log in first [?]...there does not seem to be a prompt to accept anything without being logged in...In actual fact, there are other portions of their site that I should be able to browse without being logged in, and I get sent to the same error page. Adobe Flash is up to date, cookies accepted, Javascript running...I just don't get it.

Oh yes. I have phonned tech support. Their use of the term “technical” support does not apply to log/web access issues. Hence my quest for advice here. They will probably lose my custom permanently and that is a pity. Was a great service. Who knows, I may stumble across a solution. Starting a new account with them did not solve the issue either....

Try deleting cookies in Chrome then restart Chrome and see if you can login.

If possible just delete the cookies for that Tesco website. If you have to delete all cookies make sure you have any passwords you use online backed-up first.

Deleted every single cookie and crumb and STILL getting diverted to the error page. Also, the information on this error page is for UK customers not those of us who use the Irish site [.ie]

try changing your dns servers to google dns
    https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

It is relatively common for a misconfigured ISP DNS server to cause this problem

otherwise what version of windows are you using
As far as I can find out Tesco have stopped supporting XP & Vista and you cannot log in using those operating systems, because they do not allow / contain the updated cryptographic compnents that modern webservers using TLS1.2 require

Thanks dvk01. Thanks for the link. Most useful information so far though I am not 100% competent to reconfigure...will seek out a more computer savvy person soon to make the changes and let you know what happens! I am still left wondering why all of the sudden I started having problems...could it be that these settings were some how changed during an automatic software update of my OS operating system?

Have you tried a different browser like FireFox or Internet Explorer?

What version of Windows are you using?

    Couriant, in the first post
So far, he has not answered anyone to post what version of Windows he is using.
    The only clue is this
Which means he is running, 7, 8.1 or 10. No other OS has updates.
