Recently, my brother's computer's gpu died and he had to fall back to the onboard graphics. Now he was wondering if the onboard graphics will handle his monitor a 22" widescreen. He is not into gaming, but just in music and video editing.
I will post back later with the mobo model number.
(its a oldschool Gigabyte socket 775 mobo)

It should handle it fine. Though the highest resolution the monitor is capable of may not be available.

He could just replace the video card.
Most BIOS setups will allow you to allocate more memory to video.
