Are there any programs out there that will let you assign ONE key to perform a function that would normally take a couple of keystrokes?

For instance, CTRL+F4 will close the active browser window. Is there a way to assign ONE key to do the same thing? Perhaps one of the F keys? Or, am I asking for too much here?

I am a lousey typer, and often if I have to hit the CTRL key along with another key I end up missing :( and hitting the shift key, the alt key etc...

I was just wondering if there are any programs to create a ONE keystoke action in place of the normal two or three.

    Thanks

    DAVID
