I'm *sure* that you all look at the banners of our sponsors and click on them once in a while to keep things going... right? :)

I just looked at one: http://www.vonage.com/splash/save/index_30.html?CMP=BA14422

They claim that you get UNLIMITED long distance for $40/month. Sounds WAY too good to be true. Anyone know the trick?

    Hi Mike:

I'm not sure of the situation there in the US but here in Canada cheap (conditional) unlimited plans are commonplace. My g/f has a $20/mth plan wherein she can call anywhere else in Canada between 6pm and 8am weekdays and all weekend (6pm Fri - 8am Mon). Sorry I haven't checked out the ad you indicated; I just haven't seen it yet. Is it only on a particular forum?

OOPS! nm- Just saw your link now! Checking it out...

    AT&T has this. http://www.shop.att.com/wrapper?portal=shopatt&bannerid=ILB011DRTTV&product=shopatt_orp2p

So if the others you call are with AT&T you get it all for Only $19.95 a month.

Introducing a new plan that gives you unlimited
state-to-state, in-state, and local toll calls direct dialed
from home to AT&T Residential Long Distance
subscribers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.* And now,
when you make a qualifying Unlimited call, you will hear
"AT&T", followed by a special tone. That tone lets you
know that you're talking to another AT&T customer and
that the call is unlimited! (Some limited exceptions may
    apply.)
7ยข a minute for the same type of calls to anyone else.
    Only $19.95 a month.
Your choice of convenient payment options, including
    AT&T Online Billing.
Offer subject to billing availability. A Universal
Connectivity Charge of 11% also applies. In some
states, a monthly In-state Connection Fee applies.
Additional charges may apply and the Alaska in-state
    rate is higher.

I feel cheated. I donated and don't get the adds.

Get you a 1000 minute AT&T phone card at Sams for $34.95. That comes out to 3.4 cents a minute. I average about 500 minutes a month and that makes it about $17.50 a month.

Once you have the card you can renew it over the telephone with a credit card. You have to dial in a few more numbers but it is worth it. I have the 1-800 number and pin # coded into one key on my cordless and then I just have to click the memory key that I am dialing. Some phones only allow 16 digits but VTech allows 32.
