I was on www.loansafe.org late last week, when suddenly I couldn't get to it anymore. At first, thinking the problem was on their end, since I couldn't get to it either by Firefox or IE, I waited it out over the weekend. I finally asked my mom in Texas to check to see if she could get to it - she could. I just don't get why that ONE site wouldn't be accessible?? And not on ANY of my browsers (which is what prompted me to uninstall my spyware/virus software, since the problem wasn't isolated to just one browser or the other).

I have no problem connecting to the internet itself, and I don't have any problems with any other web pages. This is the ONLY site that won't open, suddenly.

I've been at this for hours now, and I've already tried the following, and I'm exhausted. I really need to get some advice from this site (and I've checked around for others like it, to no avail), but can't get to it!

    • Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox
    • Installed Google Chrome
    • Reset and cycled my modem and router
    • Added the URL to trusted sites
    • Created various exceptions for the site
    • Restarted my computer
    • Changed my DNS Server entries several times to several different things.
    • Checked all my internet options and settings in all the browsers
    • Uninstalled all spyware and virus software except Windows Firewall
    • Tried the site on all three browsers
    • Updated Java
    • Checked with friends to see if they can open the site (they can)

Exactly what happens when you try to access the site (blank page, site/page not found error, etc.)?

Assuming you are running some version of Windows, try opening a DOS/Command screen and running a TRACERT command for the web site. What do you get as a result?

Thanks for your reply! I am operating in Windows XP, by the way . . .

In Firefox - "Problem loading page" error - The server at www.loansafe.org is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

In IE - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage The page then gives you the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button, but there ARE no connection problems, and so it doesn't detect any

In Google Chrome - Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.loansafe.org
    Try reloading: www.*loansafe.*org

When I run the TRACERT command for www.loansafe.org, this is what I get:

    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

I have to say I'm a little confused by the IP configurations, too. When I go to ipconfig, I get the following configurations:

    192.168.1.18 - IP Address
    255.255.255.0 -- Subnet Mask
    192.168.1.1

But when I log into my router, I get the following:

    IP Address 67.49.21.101
    Connection DHCP
    IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    Domain Name Server 209.18.47.61
    209.18.47.62

I am able to run a TRACERT from my computer without any problem
    Code:
    Tracing route to loansafe.org [50.28.72.20]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
    ...
     11 14 ms 14 ms 30 ms CWIE-LLC.edge2.Chicago2.Level3.net [4.59.29.82]

     12 19 ms 19 ms 19 ms lw-core4-te91.rtr.liquidweb.com [209.59.157.206]

     13 18 ms 18 ms 19 ms lw-dc3-dist9-po5.rtr.liquidweb.com [69.167.128.1
    61]
     14 27 ms 20 ms 20 ms host.loansafe.org [50.28.72.20]

    Trace complete.

This makes me suspect that either the server was down when you ran your test or the loansafe.org web site is blocking access to its server from your public IP address or range of public IP addresses that contains your IP address. If you have a dynamic public IP address (typical for most residential service) it is possible that a previous owner of that address was doing something to get that address blocked by loansafe.org or by liquidweb.com.

When you logged into your router, were you looking at your own LAN settings or the WAN (Internet) side settings? The WAN settings would not match up with your IPCONFIG data for the LAN side connection.

Okay - I checked my router. Those configurations were for the Internet port, so I guess that's why they don't match.

Hmm -- amazing you can get right to it! Grrr. :/ I have emailed the site's administrator to find out if what you're saying is actually the case. I know I'm stumped!

Well, I ended up having to use a proxy site to get to it (efreeproxysite.com). That was the only way.

Sure does make it sound like their server did not like your IP address.
