How do I get rid of the periodic clicking, static like sound when listening to online videos or music. CD's and downloaded music sound just fine.

By any chance does this sound coincide with someone using a cell phone nearby? It took me a while to figure out that a sort of buzz buzz click noise on my computer was happening when my son was dialing or receiving a call on his phone. V

Go to Sounds in Control Panel and change the sound to None for Start Navigation.

Thanks for the responses. No cell phone in use or nearby. There is a cordlessphone near, plugged in but not in use. Turned sound to "none" on control panel. Clicking continues like a scratch on an old LP
