    would you explain

All other keys are working fine - was this a typo ?

because it appears you are saying all keys work including the B and N keys

It may be a loose connection or damaged keyboard. I have a laptop here where CTRL, ALT, and a few other keys do not work but the rest of them do; it's because of spilled liquid and I have another keyboard from another damaged laptop that has several number keys that do not work; also from a spill.

I got a battery message "100% charged, consider replacing your battery". For now I am using the "On Screen Keyboard". I unpluged power cord and the battery went dead in less then 30 minutes. Hope this is the cause and ordered new one from HP.

A faulty battery shouldn't affect the keyboard.
