Ooutlook Express. Lost email

    I recently downloaded Internet explorer 6.0 and when I was prompted to restart my computer, My email and address book were wiped. is there a way to get the lost data back?

    i think when you upgrade to ie 6 you also get a upgrade on oe too havent seen your problem yet someone will be along in a minute to help

    what IE version were you upgrading from?
    did you upgrade the OE to v.6 too

    upgrades usually carry the settings etc right through the upgrade

    did favourites disappear also?

    go to start, run, find files (or tools, find in windows explorer):
    look for .dbx and .wab files

    usually in C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{bunch of letters and numbers}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

    are those type of files listed anywhere else?

    i have seen problems with the upgrade but not wipe out the address book like that
