I wanted Opera with the Presto Engine, so I recently installed version
    12.18.

Changing the Opera startup page is simple: Settings > Preferences >
    General > Home Page

When opening a new tab I see Speed Dial. Not useful for me. How do I
change this setting to my Home Page, instead of Speed Dial?

I do not use Opera but found the following at https://pchelp.ricmedia.com/change-homepage-opera/:
Change your homepage in Opera browser
    1. Open Opera
    2. Visit the web page you want as your homepage
    3. Click on the Opera Button at the top-left of your browser window
    4. Click on the Settings menu item, then look for the On startup heading (top)
    5. Select the Open a specific page or set of pages option, then click the Set pages link
    6. Click on the Use current pages button to add your homepage
    7. Remove any pages you don’t want by mouse-over, then click the X (cross) to the right
    8. When you’ve finished, click the OK button, then close the Settings tab
    9. Restart Opera to test your new homepage settings
    10. You’re all done!

    Thanks for your reply.

DaveA, I said changing the startup page to my selected home page is "simple."

"Changing the Opera startup page is simple: Settings > Preferences >
    General > Home Page"

I'll ask my question again. I don't like or need Opera Speed Dial. I want new
tabs to open with my home page, not Speed Dial. How do change Opera settings
so that all new tabs open with my home page?

I should have posted at the Opera forum. After performing a few Google searches,
it seems like I need to edit an INI file or download an add-on. Not sure.
