Opening attachments in outlook express is slow

When I double click on an attachment in an email message using outlook express, it takes about 8-10 secs to load the attachment (e.g. word document). But if i right click on the attachment and open, it's very fast. Any advice on this ?

Currently using Office XP, outlook express 6 on win xp pro.
