Win Me
IE6 SP1

Just recently, if I click on a hyperlink to go to a new page/site, sometimes instead of it opening into a new full page as I want, all I get is a blue title bar, about one inch long, with the minimize/expand/close buttons. If I click the expand button, I get the view I want. This doesn't happen every time or on every website

I have looked at the suggestions offered on the 'Problems with IE5' thread but can't see anything of help to me.

Thanks in advance.

The only way of fixing this, is to drag the small window to fill the screen with your mouse, and NOT use the maximize window.

Close that new window by holding the Ctrl key depressed and clicking CXlose in the "File" menu.

That ought to force Windows to remember the settings.

Thanks, but it doesn't open as a small window that can be dragged to maximum, it's just a tiny title bar where I have to use the maximize button.

It ought to make no difference.
You should still be able to grab the bottom right corner of that "title bar" and drag it to enlarge the window.

Yes, dragging out the title bar does work, as does Control Close. Unfortunately the problem I described doesn't happen every time (like when you take your car to the garage with an intermittent fault and the garage can't make it do it) but so far, on the one occasion when the title bar came up, your fix did the trick, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks.
