opening screen

    when i turn on this puter it goes thru startup and show sthe wall paper and thats all. if i hit cntrl-alt-del a box comes up called windows task manager. I can run aol and all my prgrams out of this. The regular window stuff wont cum up. No icons. No start bar or button. Any one got any ideas?>?

    Try this:
    On the task manager Application tab, click on File> New Task(Run..) then type: explorer.exe then OK. See if you get the taskbar and start menu back.

    I treid the task manager and typing explore. That accomplished a breif flash on the bottom of the screen, like it was gonna work but the flashed away in half a second. The links to kelly's corner seemed to run something, yet no joy is to be found.

    Try this and see if it will start your desktop.
    From the task manager, Application tab. File> New Task(Run..) type: %WinDir%\EXPLORER.EXE then OK.

    once again. a quick flash at the bottom of the screen like it is gonna happen. Then nothing. Interestingly when i minimize a window that i am using it lines up like the start bar is there.
