Just some advice on Microsoft optional updates. I am running W7 x64. I have several optional updates which refer to W10. I have no idea when I will install W10, is it necessary to update them ?

Update for Windows 7 x64 based Systems (KBxxxxxx)

the xxxxxx are the KB numbers. They seem to refer to help in updating W10.
I have not installed W10 as yet and not sure when I will do it.

    Thanks

Right-click on each of those optional updates, then select to hide it.

Hi Flavallee, thanks for the instruction to hide. Is it advisable to install them ?
I may want to install W10 later on.
    Regards

That's not going to prevent you from upgrading to Windows 10 later if you want to.

Note: I believe July 29, 2016 is the cutoff date for getting the upgrade for free.
