I've acquired an Optiplex GN+ 200Mz barebones machine, socket 7, 2 DIMM slots, copyright 1997 on motherboard. I'll set it up as usual with (tried all types of memory) pc66, 100, 133, hard drive, CD ROM. Everything else is on board. It immediately gives me a beep code, 1-3-1-1, nothing more. The monitor screen remains dark, but I can hear the hard drive spinning up. Bios research says that this beep code indicates the memory needs to be reseated. I've tried every combination of memory I have: 32M of PC66, 64M of PC100, 128M of PC133, and 256M of PC133. Does anyone have any suggestions how I might get past these beep codes.
