This is really a wierd one.
I have four player programs,Windows Media Player 7, the CD player in windows under Entertainment,Creative Player and B's gold player.
Now i can play Windows player 7 with CD in it and it has sound and plays like it should. The other three, when i put in a CD to play i get no sound at all. I have checked for muted things all over in the respective programs and all is ok. I have a new Sound Blaster PCI 128 card.
I tried something in windows "Help" and used a patch cord from the earphone jack on my CD-Rom to the Line in jack on my sound card and ALL of the other three programs will have sound. Help said the audio cable inside the CPU could be defective, but if it was Windows Media player 7 without the line cord would not play. And i know the computer fellow that installed my cd burner and sound card would have checked that out.
Anyone have any ideas what might be going on and why would I have to use a patch cord on the three other than Win player 7 to get sound ?
It is a strange one to me, so I thought I'd throw it out to the board.
Thanks
Steve
