I have been experiencing this the last couple of months on IE8 in Windows 7. It is a 64 bit machine but wont download 64 bit IE8. Can click on it and it does continue but has been more prevalent lately. Used to be maybe once a day but is now more prevalent and is really getting annnoying. Newer computer with 2 G of memory, 1.87 useable. I do have the follwing settings set: Internet Options, Advanced tab, Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes, and then click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box.

Troubleshooting found no errors, Browsing History set to 75, set the virtual memory to the 4095, rebooted. Still happens. Wierd thing is it does not happen on every site, just news sites, local or national. At first I though it was flashplayer related but I dont get errors on things like the NFL site that use the same flashplayer.

I thought possible compatiblity problem but I don't get the indication on the page showing that. Can get it to occur at will by just going to the problem sites and nothing show up in the event viewer for day and time. Thought it may be JScript.dll or VBScript.dll file, or both.

Ran an sfcscanow without disk and it didn't find anything

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    C:\Windows\system32>
