Hi I have a pc that displays the initial start up screens and windows xp screens, but when the desktop should appear the screen goes blank and an "out of range" warning appears.
This happens even in safe mode, and with various monitors. I installed a graphics card today and during start up the new card is listed during memorycheck but still the same thing happens. It is a couple of years old, and is has a Athlon 64 3400+ and 500mb ram. The new card is Nvidia FX5500 256mb.

    Any suggestions?
