I am a student and want to type my notes during class using the provided outlines. However, the outlines are poorly formatted and it bothers me. So I try to use an outline format provided by Word 2007, with some minor tweaks for font and such. No matter what I do, once I format the outline provided, I cannot add to the document in a matter that continues the outline. Like, if I am on a level starting with "A", if I hit enter after that line, it will not go to "B". Rather, it will start at the the left end of the document, as if there is no outline formatting at all.

I knew how to reformat documents with older versions of Word, but I can't seem to figure this one out! Do you know what I'm doing wrong or need to do to be able to 1) "re-format" to provided outline and 2) be able to add to this "new" outline while continuing with the current outline. Right now, every time I enter a new line, I have to click the outline button and continue the numbering and ..... all that crap!

    Thanks!!!
