Every time I try to open Outlook 2000 I get the following message:
    ---
    Outlook.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x023b0df3" referenced memory at 0x000000000

The memory could not be "read".

Click OK to terminate the program.
    ---

    (1) When I hit "OK" it takes about 10 hits for the dialogue box to close
    (2) I believe the problem started to occur after I inadvertently opened an application called "freeapp.exe"
    (3) I have run all my utility programs, defragmented, have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook, but the problem remains.
    (4) As an interim measure I have been using Thunderbird and it works well (but lacks the features of Outlook).
    (5) All other programs and applications appear to be working normally.
    (6) I am using Windows xp home edition
    (7) I have checked the various postings on here

    Any assistance would be appreciated.
