Hi. I sent a Rich Text Format E-mail from MS Outlook 2000 and it was received as a .dat file. The body of the e-mail contained text plus a table of numbers I cut and pasted from MS Excel. Does anybody there know what happened?

Yep, if you send RTF mail to someone whose mail program does not support it, the RTF coding causes it to be encapsulated in a dat file.

As Randy suggested, used plain text, you can't go wrong.
