I am using MS Outlook 2003. When I compose an Email then click 'send', my outgoing messages are automatically sent immediately, rather than going to the 'outbox' and staying there until I click 'send/receive'.

How can I set my outgoing mail to go to my outbox instead of sending immediately?

Under Tools > Options > Mail Delivery, can you check or uncheck to send mail immediately?

Thank you for reqsponding to my inquiry. I can use the 'tools>options>mail delivery' settings to check/uncheck send mail automatically, but not in the 2003 version of Outlook. The problem is that this option does not appear in the latest version. Did they remove the capability to set this in the updated version?

One option: when composing a message, select options, and under delivery options you can select: "do not deliver before..." and set criteria. This will save the message in your outbox until that time arrives (and you can change this anytime until the message is sent). Off the top of my head, however, I do not know how to make this apply to all messages.

Also, Under "Tools>rules and alerts", you can set a rule to delay delivery of messages for a certain amount of time. which will hold all of your messages in your outbox for a desired amount of time.
