I'm having trouble with the way Outlook 2007 is viewing some emails. When replying to some emails Outlook changes the font size and color after hitting send. While editing the reply the formatting appears normal, I can change font size and color and see it in the reply. After hitting send I look in the Sent folder and the font size and color has been reset to Times New Roman, Black, 12pt. Originally I thought it may be converting the email to plain text but this is not the case, links and pictuers still work. After more research I found the emails look fine on the server when accessing the sent items through webmail. So the emails are reaching the recipient with the correct formating, but when the recipient replies and I see the email again it is once again Times New Roman, Black, 12pt font. I found that if I view the email in IE the fonts are displayed correctly. While testing I sent a reply from an affected email chain to my hotmail email and then from hotmail replied back to the affected system and that resolved the issue. This leads me to believe it is an issue with the way Word is viewing/editing the email. I have been looking into this issue for a couple days changing all kinds of options and settings in Outlook with no luck. Any suggestions?

Does this happen to ALL email to all accounts that you send to and receive back or just one person and their account?

During testing it happened with all the internal accounts tested using the problem message. The only external account that I tested with was my hotmail email and it fixed that email chain's formating issues. I'm almost certain is has to do with the way Word 2007 is handling the html coding.

What do you mean in the OP "links and pictures still work" when checking for plain text?

Plain text files can have links that work, and can have pictures attached, but NOT embedded.

The pictures were in the body of the email. With the picture, I copied a picture then pasted it in the body of the email and it was sent and received no problem. I didn't realize plain text emails would display links, so I guess that testing on my part was pointless.

We need to see what happens from some other external account and using a different message.
