Outlook 2007: multiple profiles/emails

    I am having difficulty figuring out why my outlook will not successfully allow me to add an additional pop3 email address. I went thru the steps of adding an email and it only lets me "finish" the process if I select: 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' (if I dont select that, then it goes thru the motions of configuring and it never works so then it will end up suggesting I select 'manually configure...')...ok, thats fine, so even when I do that and it gets to the end of the prompts and says 'finished' I still cannot use that email address. I will go to 'Tools, Send/Receive' and select the new email address, a pop-up will appear that will ask for the password for the email account. so I input it and select 'ok'. a few moments pass and the pop-up shows up again and has the password in ****'s showing and asks again for the password. so i do it again. and this process keeps repeating until I get tired of it and cancel it.:mad:
    This is very frustrating! This is my work computer and work email and I need to add a secondary work email address to the outlook.
    I even added a secondary outlook profile to use, thinking that would help but it still is doing the same thing. the profile is there but that darn pop up keeps doing its repeated pop-up. I have all my passwords and email addresses correct, I've triple checked that, I've gone on our dns web-hosting server site to verify the email is active and working, so i am at a loss.
    Is there something I am doing wrong? or am missing?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Being a WORK machine, you need to contact your Work support people.
    The machine may be "Blocked" from you adding any email accounts.
