Am using Outlook 2007 as mailing client.
I have saved an e-mail to my desktop and was able to open the saved e-mail from desktop.
I deleted the copy of saved e-mail from Inbox and tried opening the saved mail from desktop.
Am not able to open the mail saved on to my desktop.
I was able to open the same message when I had the copy of it in Inbox.

Why am I not able to open a mail saved to my desktop???

Are you sure your actually making a copy not just making a shortcut to it?

yes. I open the mail I received and press function key F12. on the Save As dialog box, I changed the file type as ".msg" and saved the mail to desktop.
