I keep getting this message on startup:

VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.

Please tell ATI technologies all about this problem.

When I click on "Send Error Report" I then get this message:

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Outlook Express and set it as the default mail client.

When I go into Outlook to set the default settings I am denied this as the "Make Default! button is not highlighted.

After all of the above I hope some kind person can see me on the road to recovery!

You actually need to go into Internet Explorer, go to tools > internet options and go to the Programs tab. Select your preferred email client from the dropdown list.
