Hi guys, I have a major problem with my email, I have Mcaffee 2004 and it shows no viruses, so I have no other idea what it may be. The problem is that everytime I check my email, it keeps sending me the mail I already had in my inbox over and over, it times out after recieving the 10 of 18 messages that are in there so i can not recieve any new emails due to this time out problem. I have moved the cursor to allow more time in the advanced section of outlook but that does not do a thing. Can I delete outlook entirely itself ? I run windows xp, my computer is a dell and is only a month old. thanks for the help in advance and especially for your time!!

Since it's timing out receiving your emails, it sounds like your the mail server isn't flagging them received because you haven't received all of them. Does your ISP allow you to check your email via the web? If so, login and delete those messages you've already received. You should also see the message that your timing out on. Maybe it's too large? Regardless, you may want to delete that one also so you can download the rest of your email.

Do you delete your messages from server after they have been downloaded to your machine via POP3 server?

In Outlook Express 6 you can go to Tools > Accounts > Mail

Select the account, click on properties and then go to Advanced tab. There somewhere at the bottom, there is an option of "Leave a Copy of Messages on Server" If this option is not selected, mails get moved to your machine. Otherwise they ge copied (i.e. remain on the server and come up again and again unless you delete them)
