    Hi:

A client's Outlook Express address book was exported from a Windows 2K Pro machine and saved on a CD-RW disc as a .csv file. I am unable to import it to the client's new XP Pro machine.

I have sucessfully imported the file to two other 2K Pro and two XP Pro machines.

After loading the CD-RW disc and clicking on File, Import, Other Address Book, and then highlighting Text File (Comma Separated Values), I click on Import and the system hangs with no further action.

Thanks, any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Some CD drives have problems reading CD-RW disks. Try copying the csv file to the harddrive and importing from there.

Thanks, Miz, I appreciate the help and will try your suggestion. The problem, however, is not with reading the disc, it's with the import tool (or lack of).

Once I highlight the option, Text File (comma separated values), the system hangs and won't allow me to even browse for the location of the file I wish to import, regardless of being placed on the CD-RW disc or the harddrive.

Any other thoughts will be appreciated.

    Thanks again/

The problem has been resolved. From the command line, I ran sfc /scannow. When the scan completed, whatever file that was missing or corrupted was repaired.

Thanks again for offering me your suggestion.
