Windows ME - problem with outlook express Ver5
Can't send emails unless system restarted.. Error message - An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0131
This is the other message that I get after the error one comes up and this closes the system down - MSIMN caused an error in DIRECTDB.DLL MISMN will now close.
Tried fix found on net (replace folder.dbx) worked for a couple of hours then reverts to same problem. Anyone come across this before?? Any resolution?? Have scanned for bugs but nothing found.

Hi ally31

Have you tried creating a new Identity in Outlook Express?

Create a new Identity in Outlook Express:
File > Identities > Add New Identity
Name the Identity
Click Yes when asked if you want to switch to the new Identity.
Cancel out of Importing or Upgrading if the option is given.
Recreate your E-mail account.

Send a message addressed to yourself to test.

If that works well, then the messages from the previous Identity can be Imported into the new Identity.

Let us know if that works for you or not.
