    thanks for the suggestion.
I have found out that for the check spelling to work a software like Word should be installed. I have 0ffice 2007 so wonder why it doesn't.
Also on another computer, it works but in french!! Any idea how to switch it to english?

In Internet Explorer> Tools> Internet Options> Programs tab> on the drop down beside HTML editor: select Microsoft Word then Apply and OK. This will make Word your email editor. Then in Outlook Express> Tools> Options> Spelling tab, check Always check spelling before sending and Suggest replacements for misspelled words
On the other French Outlook Express, on this same tab you can select the language on the drop down under Language

Outlook Express does not have a spell checker, it makes use of the one installed by other applications, such as Office. The problem is that the Office 2007 spell checker is not compatible with OE. This manifests itself as a French only spell checker. Down load and install SnapFiles spell checker at: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/spelloe.html to fix the problem.
