outlook express virus?

    hi please help
    information i have in my office97 has been taken out and all different extracts from it have been sent to all my e-mail address's in my outlook express have i got a virus or what ?whoever hacked into my comp will do it again how can i prevent the same

    please help highrise

    Yes, you have a virus. Run an up-to-date virus scan immediately.
    The only real way to prevent such things is to make sure you've installed all service releases/security patches, and ALWAYS be running an antivirus program with updated virus signatures.

    You can Disable the Windows Scripting Host.
    http://service4.symantec.com/SARC/sarc.nsf/html/win.script.hosting.html with Noscript.exe

    It like a on and off button so if you need Windows Scripting Host for something to work it's very easy to turn back on.

    I have the java Disable in my email in Netscape
    and a ZoneAlarm firewall that has Mail safe and that has worked great.

    Might I suggest you also go to Home Trend and scan.... If you have a trojan or worm or virus Home Trend will find it. Its a free online scan.
