    some of my messages are going straight to the deleted folders file, how do you stop this from happening.

    Have you tried checking out your settings under Tools / Options ?

    check tools/message rules, you or someone must have set up a rule deleting some messages

    Also while looking under Tools\Message Rules-look in your Block Senders List. I accidently put one in there and I would find mail from that person in my deleted folder and not remember reading it.
