I am using Windows 10 and Outlook 2010. The email is using POP3. I have had the computer 6 months and not problems until the last few days. When I boot the computer the email works normally. After a variable amount of time, usually about 2 or 3 hours, it will not receive or send emails. The blue activity bar at the bottom right gets “stuck.” It seems, to use an analogy, as if the messages have to go through a pipe which is collecting sediment until it fills up and the messages can no longer go through. When I reboot the pipe is flushed out and Outlook works normally again for 2 or 3 hours. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? Would it make a difference if I used IMAP. This is definitely a problem with my computer, not with the Internet Provider, since email on another computer using Outlook with POP3 works normally.
