I recently moved some email messages from my Outlook XP 'sent items' file to two new folders to reduce the size of the outlook.pst file. The two new files contain 100mb and 121mb respectively. However, the outlook.pst file wasn't reduced a single byte initially and since has only come down from 755mb to 735mb. Why wasn't it reduced by 221mb?

PST files are like databases. They don't reduce in size unless you compress 'em. Do a search for "compact now" in the help... I've got 2003...
