When I try to schedule a meeting with the people in my office, I can only see the descriptions of why some people are busy for certain people, is there a reason why?

You can choose to not display your calender information. Look in options on the preferences tab then calendar options in the bottom right click the free/busy options. Here you can decide if your calender info will be displayed
