You will find settings under Tools - options - General

Then under the heading Send/receive messages:

Choose - send and receive automatically on startup

You can set the numbers of minutes that OE will check for new messages, such as every 15 minutes. I believe the default is 30 minutes. This means that every 15 minutes the send/receive feature will be activated automatically and you will receive any new e-mails you may have.

I think the location for OutlookXP is a little different that Outlook Express.

In OutlookXP go to Tools / Options
Click on the Mail Setup tab
Click on the Send/Receive button
Click on Schedule and automatic send/receive every and then enter in the number of minutes you want it to check.

What Im asking about is a manual mail receive. I have a number of different accounts coming in thru Outlook and I want to receive mail manually. Is there a way just to receive it, or is it automatically send and receive?

thx

Bob - Is there a way to just manually send or receive? Outlook 2000 seemed so much smoother, unless Im missing something. I want to just receive mail say, when I log on. Can I do this?

thx

I haven't found a way to just Receive mail in Outlook. Seem to remember earlier versions allowing this but nothing lately.

Also, in Outlook 2000 I could only find Send, or Send/Recieve. But no just Receive.
