When i boot up my OE, its says "performing offline tasks" i wait while it completes this but it never does... i then get an error message saying......

    MSIMN Error

MSIMN has caused an error in MSOE.DLL

    MSIMN will now close.........

and it does.... it suggests restarting the computer and trying again, this ive tried no luck, ive also ran a scan disc and a norton virus scan... clean bill of health..

    Anyone got any ideas?

I cant read my email now.... help!!

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,

From what I've been able to find about this problem, try this:

Turn off background compaction under Tools\Options\Maintenance, and
then compact manually via File\Folder\Compact all.

Background compaction has been implicated in corrupting the message store, so its a good idea to leave it off.

Also take a look at the following articles:

Error Message If the Folders.dbx File Is Missing or Damaged

Error Message Using Some Rules in Outlook Express

OLEXP: You Receive an Error Message or Are Unable to Start Outlook Express (Q245419)

    Good luck,
