Hey guys,
(I hope I'm posting in the correct forum)

I need a moderately inexpensive computer set-up that is capable of simultaneously outputting 2 separate videos in 1080p on 2 separate large T.V.'s. (Video x on T.V. 1 and video y on T.V. 2). I'm open to either a mac based or windows based system.

What type of hardware would suffice?
What type of cable/connectors would be ideal?
What software would allow a single computer to manage this?

Thanks in advance.

I think you can do it quite cheaply. I would use Linux as it's Very efficient at video playback. A dual HDMI output card is probably the only specific hardware you will need, most run-of-the-mill machines will provide the rest. Set up an extended desktop, drag the two instances of video player to their respective desktops and voilà. Not sure how the sound will work though.
