I get the basic idea of overclocking, but what are the benifits on a slightly older computer with mid range amd athlon and a mid range nvidia graphics card? Both have been used for a couple of years without being overclocked, and i was wondering if by doing this could they just pack in? Thanks for any help!

    Note that by OCing you:
    Void any warranties left(exceptions exist)
CAN destroy your parts, can achieve percentual performance boost
Will increase the temperatures of your parts and the inside of the case
Will be using quite a while perfecting you OC, if you want any real, BENEFICIAL effects...
